An Evening with Friends: What to Do for the Weekend

Friends Hanging Out in MinneapolisTrying to find something new to do this weekend? Tired of all the old and ordinary? This may read like lines on a poster, but sometimes they ring true for many people who are no longer excited by the idea of going to the beach or visiting a new museum.

Fun things shouldn’t be expensive, either. So spending your entire month’s pay at the shopping strip is out of the question. Here is a list of fun things you can do with friends without spending too much.

1. Stay at home and look back on years past.

Remember Friends, that TV series where the main characters shared couch space all the time at their local coffee shop? In at least one episode, they spent all that time to recall the funniest and most embarrassing moments they’ve shared. This is something you can do with friends. You don’t even need a coffee shop; do it in one of your apartments where the coffee is unlimited. You won’t even notice the time fly by.

2. Play laser tag.

Do you know anyone who thinks laser tag is not fun? Prove them wrong. Laser tag gives you an adrenaline rush few other pursuits can, it’s not expensive, and you can play it at any age. It even lets you exercise your body and your teamwork.

3. Visit a haunted house.

If you’re looking for some real excitement, maybe a few good scares are all you need. Find a haunted house in Minneapolis and book a visit. The Haunting Experience says you should make sure you can handle the level of fright the place provides, however. Some of them can make you doubt whether those ghouls are actors or the real thing.

4. Set up a movie night.

Nothing beats an old fashion movie night for friendly bonding and, of course, non-spending. Surf the web for suggestions if you need ideas. Toss a bag of popcorn into the microwave and you’re all set.

Get-togethers with friends don’t have to be expensive or boring. Sometimes, the simplest things are the best choices.
